Farm Credit East is seeking a Portfolio Risk & Insights Analyst to join our Risk & Analytics team. In this role, you will monitor portfolio conditions, identify emerging risks, and deliver actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. Your work will help ensure the strength and stability of our portfolio while supporting the success of the organization and our customers.

  • Portfolio Risk Management: Deliver accurate, timely analyses to monitor credit quality, collateral, concentration, and counterparty risks. 
  • Insight Generation: Identify emerging trends and risks; provide actionable recommendations to management and the Board. 
  • Decision Support: Enable strategic decisions through dashboards, benchmarking, and real-time reporting aligned with the Enterprise Risk Management framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Risk Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct recurring and ad hoc portfolio risk analyses (credit quality, collateral, concentration, counterparty).
  • Analyze and interpret output from key risk models (CECL, Stress Testing, credit decision models).
  • Identify trends and emerging risks; collaborate with Knowledge Exchange and management to interpret root causes.
  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, actionable format for senior management and the Board.
  • Ensure data and reporting meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Utilize data storytelling techniques to simplify complex analytics for decision-makers.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with risk, finance, and business operations to align modeling initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify analytics use cases.
  • Work with data teams to ensure data quality and build data models and pipelines to support production dashboards.
  • Provide outstanding service to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related field required. 
  • 3+ years of experience in portfolio risk management, credit analysis, or underwriting.
  • Strong analytical skills; experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and present takeaways in a consumable format
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts for decision-makers.
  • Innovative mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • We offer hybrid work options after two weeks of employment with Farm Credit East. Hybrid work options are determined based on job role and balancing the needs of the customers, the team, and individual work performance. This will be reviewed based on manager discretion.

Preferred:

  • Experience with credit risk modeling, loss forecasting, regression models, and stress testing
  • Familiarity with reserve model analysis, internal controls, and model governance.
  • Understanding of the agriculture industry
  • Technical experience with Power BI, SQL, or R for dashboard development and statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and nCino loan origination platforms

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $70,000 to $110,000 commensurate with experience
  • Short-Term Incentive to reward business results
  •  Retirement Contributions :
    • 401k match up to 6% of salary; or for those unable to take full advantage of the 401(k) match, verified student loan payments may qualify for an employer match in your 401(k) up to 6% of salary
    • Defined Contribution retirement plan funded at 2-9% of salary depending on years of service
  • Time Off:
    • 15-25 days of vacation leave per year, depending on years of service
    • 12 days of holiday leave per year
    • 7.5 days of sick leave in your first year, followed by 12 days of sick leave per year thereafter; unlimited rollover of unused sick leave year to year
