As a Money Desk Associate, you will be responsible for working as a member of a cross-functional team focused on providing financial services of high quality and value to both customers and branch team members. The position works with the Cash Manager and Money Desk staff to support cash management functions, including wires, ACH, and reconciliations as part of the internal control framework. In addition to daily production responsibilities, the employee is expected to help identify and implement improvements as needed. Support to financial projects will be expected as time permits. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong customer service skills, and will work effectively in a team setting with both external customers and internal team members.

Responsibilities/Duties

 

The employee is accountable for the following:

  • Financial Accounting: Daily reconciliation of CoBank and related checking accounts for Farm Credit East (FCE). Help clear all outstanding items affecting CoBank reconciliations. Act as primary contact with FCE lockbox vendor. Process all daily wire and ACH activity for FCE. Embody the philosophy demonstrating complete accountability, initiative, and willingness to take on and see all work through to successful completion.
  • Operations: Provide backup and assistance within FCE’s finance and operations functions.
  • Special Projects: Support special projects with knowledge of cash processing. Provide cross-functional assistance on an as needed basis to other operational areas of FCE.
  • Teamwork: Display a positive attitude toward the job and contribute positively to the overall morale of the team and association. Deliver feedback in a constructive and positive manner. Deliver effective communication through adapting style/tone and content to meet the needs of the team. Assist other team/branch members when asked and offer help when time permits. Contribute to the training and development of less experienced staff.
  • Customer Focus: Build branch confidence and satisfaction by setting and communicating and meeting achievable branch and customer expectations. Develop strong business relationships by taking responsibility of the situation and actions. Think creatively and seek opinions and ideas from others to utilize all our products and services to create value for our branches and customers while acting in a forthright and ethical manner.

 

Required Education

 

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
