As a member of the Finance team, the Finance and Accounting Manager processes and reconciles accounts on the general ledger, prepares financial statements and reports, and documents and structures various financial management solutions. This position works with the CFO, Treasurer and related team members to build out reporting, compliance, and portfolio analysis and works directly with Farm Credit East’s Funding Bank and IT provider to ensure transaction accuracy and efficiency. In addition, this position designs complex finance and investment modeling to help Farm Credit East’s Asset Liability Management (ALM) function and interprets modeled outcomes and provides recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Management Support

  • Provides direct support to customer facing credit and related staff on loan pricing structure and terms
  • Documents and structures financial management solutions
  • Interprets and makes recommendations based on investment and financial modeling
  • Aids in the maintenance of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting
  • Develops and oversees databases, reports and spreadsheets used for financial data analysis and visualization
  • Develops and prepares financial spreadsheets for the annual Association Budget & Financial Plan including assisting with annual Association Stress Test
  • Coordinates and develops project management plans with the finance team

 

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Prepares various financial reports and PowerPoint presentations for items such as Board, Audit Committee and ALCO meetings and monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Works with Financial Reporting to automate standard reporting processes and ensure completeness and accuracy of designed reports
  • Acts as a primary source of management information from a variety of sources including General Ledger, Business Objects financial reporting, loan accounting, and Association maintained databases
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual financial plan and maintains budget related spreadsheets

 

Association Asset Liability Management Support

  • Works closely with CoBank on various pricing, funding and equity positioning initiatives and analysis
  • Works within the ALM function on calculation of prepayment penalties, & fixed rate pricing information for credit and operations staff 
  • Gathers and summarize pricing and competitive information

 

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and management
  • Certification in a related field preferred (CPA, MBA, CFA, etc.)
  • Salary range: $70,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience
