The Loan Operations Associate serves in an operational capacity to support efficient functioning and monitoring of Farm Credit East’s Capital Markets group. This group serves the largest Farm Credit East customers and purchased participation loans from across the country. The Operations team member handles the accounting and monetary functions of the lending relationship, ensuring loan transactions are accounted for and funded correctly and according to Farm Credit East, FCA, and partner bank regulations, policies, and procedures. This role strives to promote good customer and public relations to support an exceptional experience for both customers and internal employees. This role is mindful of all phases of the credit delivery process and takes responsibility for meeting the needs of both internal and external customers.

•    Provides quality control for internal reporting and loan documentation, fueling operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Loan Accounting

• Maintains accurate general ledger account records
• Processes monetary transactions, including loan disbursements, wires, ACHs, and customer payments including proper documentation
• Provides loan activity notification to participating banks within timeframes established in ACA operational procedures
• Process rate changes as required
• Completes manual billings for assigned customers on a timely basis
• Reviews accounting system reports to ensure exceptions are identified and corrected. Corrects accounting system rejects within 2 days. Follows up on recently processed loan actions to correct loan rejects and ensure billing is scheduled according to the approval and note.

Job Qualifications and Requirements: 

• This position requires an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Economics, Finance, Business or a related field.
• This position is primarily conducted out of a physical Farm Credit East office location in order to effectively serve local customers. Farm Credit East requires new employees to work at their assigned office location for the first 2 weeks of their employment. After 2 weeks of acceptable performance, the employee is eligible for a hybrid working structure of 4 days in-office and 1 day working from home each week.

Compensation and Benefits: 

• Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience 

• Short Term Incentive to reward business results

  • 401(k) match up to 6% of salary; or for those unable to take full advantage of the 401(k) match, verified student loan payments may qualify for an employer match in your 401(k) up to 6% of salary 

  • Defined Contribution retirement plan funded at 2-9% of salary depending on years of service

  • 15-25 days of vacation leave per year, depending on years of service
