As a Data Governance Officer, you will work as part of an integrated technology and risk management team within the Enfield, CT office location. The position will be responsible for the organization’s data quality, security, maintenance, and integrity. This position will interact with senior management on establishing and changing policies, developing and maintaining KPIs on data quality, testing of data accuracy, and ensure that people, process, and technology are all in alignment.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Governance leader to bring their knowledge and experience to the forefront of the Association and help promote a data driven culture. This position will work closely with both internal Association staff and our external strategic partner Financial Partners Inc. The ideal candidate will understand modern data governance practices particular to a financial institution be a self-starter, strategic thinker, great communicator, and enjoy collaborating in a dynamic customer-focused environment

 

 

Responsibilities/Duties

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • A general understanding of Microsoft Azure, Power BI, Business Objects, and Sharepoint is desirable in addition to a general working knowledge of core systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, SalesForce, nCino, and Fiserv DNA.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop consistent data definitions, determine data aliases, develop standard calculations and derivations, document the business rules of the corporation, monitor the quality of the data in the data warehouse, and define privacy/security requirements
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data protection standards, data quality standards, and adoption requirements across the Association
  • Collaborate with data science teams to drive data impact analysis and data quality initiatives
  • Proven ability to communicate with varied company stakeholders utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a strong community commitment and professional presence that contributes to the overall positive image of the Association.
  • Serve on working committees throughout the Association as needed

 

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelors degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Management, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with Data Governance and/or Information Management disciplines with a sound understanding of data protection laws & regulations and large-scale data governance including project management and oversight experience specific to a financial institution
  • Highly developed organizational skills to function effectively, while still maintaining attention to detail and meeting specific organization goals
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
